Miracle League

A Miracle Field, is a little league type baseball field that is designed for use by children with disabilities. The entire field surface is made out of a rubber surface that cushions falls and prevents injury. The field surface is completely flat without bumps, thereby allowing people using walkers, wheelchairs, and other people with mobility challenges to use the field. The entrances, exits, and dugouts are designed to accomodate persons with disabilities. The Miracle Field will allow children with disabilities to participate in organized baseball. Without a Miracle Field, many of the area youth with disabilities would not be able to participate in organized baseball. Regular little league fields do not work for the majority of children with disabilities. The construction of a Miracle Field will allow regional youth with disabilities to have many of the same experiences as their peers. The Miracle League of Central Minnesota has determined that 7,000 regional youth would meet Miracle League standards.
